From kitchen to your door
ChowFlex is a pre-order marketplace — not a same-day takeaway. Here's how it works for customers and cooks.
Search your area
Enter your postcode on the browse page. ChowFlex shows you verified home cooks near you who are taking orders this week. Filter by cuisine (Nigerian, Ghanaian, Caribbean and more), halal certification, dietary requirements, and allergens.
Choose a delivery day
Each cook sets their own delivery days — for example, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. When you add dishes to your basket, you select which of those days you want your food delivered. Orders are placed in advance, typically 2–4 days ahead.
Browse the weekly menu
Cooks publish their menu each week, including how many portions of each dish are available per delivery day. When a dish sells out for a particular day, it shows as unavailable. You can join the waitlist for a cook who is fully booked.
Pay securely
Your card is authorised at the time of ordering, but not charged until your food is delivered. If the cook cannot fulfil your order for any reason, your card is never charged. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Track your delivery
On your delivery day, an Uber Direct courier collects your order from the cook and brings it directly to you. You can track your delivery in real time in the ChowFlex app. Food arrives hot, fresh, and made that day.
Leave a review
After delivery, you can leave a star rating and written review for the cook. Your reviews help other customers discover great cooks, and help cooks improve their service. Reviews are verified — only customers who have ordered can leave them.
Apply and get verified
Complete the 5-step cook onboarding. You will need a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate, Food Business Registration with your local council, and allergen awareness training. Once submitted, our team reviews and approves your application within 48 hours.
Set your delivery days
Choose which days of the week you deliver — this is entirely up to you. ChowFlex automatically calculates your menu publishing day (the day after your last delivery day) and your order window (the period when customers can order).
Publish your weekly menu
On your publishing day, you confirm your menu for the week. Your previous week's menu is pre-filled — just confirm or make changes. Set how many portions of each dish you can make per delivery day. Once published, customers can start ordering.
Accept orders
When a customer places an order, you receive a notification immediately. You have a window to accept the order. Once accepted, the customer's card is authorised. On your delivery day, you package the food and a courier collects from your door.
Get paid weekly
ChowFlex pays out 85% of every order directly to your bank account, every week via Stripe. There are no hidden fees, no minimum payout amounts, and no waiting. You keep 85% — we take 15% to cover platform costs, payment processing, and delivery coordination.
